Hello - I am Phillip Luwemba . Welcome to my practice, Luphix Designs. I am a designer specializing in architecture and interior design. I love beautiful spaces, and I take real pride in the fact that I have created a great many of them since I started in this industry in 2011. My work is about designing spaces that enhance the lives of the people who use them - spaces that are seen, felt, and lived in. Space should be responsive to touch, comfortable to be in, and above all, personal. It is about crafting your own piece of the world - a space that belongs to you.
As a practitioner with both a design and architectural background, I believe that beauty matters. I never simply deliver functionality. I try, in every project, to make space colorful, playful, texture-rich, artistic, and decorative - while keeping it comfortable and easy to build. I have great faith that simply constructed buildings can still be extraordinarily beautiful. With a deep love of materials - from natural stone to industrial acrylics - you can expect the best in design from every project I take on.
How I Think About Space
Space should do more than contain people. The best-designed environments shape how people feel, perform, and relate to one another - without announcing themselves. That is the quality I aim for: design that is present, considered, and quietly correct. I work across architecture and interior design because I believe the two disciplines are not separable. A building that is well-structured but poorly resolved at the interior level is an incomplete project. I design from the outside in - and sometimes from the inside out - because the quality of a space depends on the relationship between structure, material, light, and use. I design for permanence, not trends. Materials, proportions, and spatial relationships that hold up over time matter more to me than what is fashionable at the point of construction.
